Action Projects

After the initial in-class experience and a visit to one of Toronto and Region Conservation Authority’s (TRCA) field centres, it’s time for students to put their new environmental knowledge to work by taking on an ACTION PROJECT, whether at school or in the community.

Students may generate an idea of their own as a class.

Follow one of our action project lesson plans, or check out the action project planning section (pages 13-16) of our program guide for teachers.

Connect with field centre staff to find out about action projects that other classes have undertaken.

Team up with one of the local environmental organizations listed below, or with other eco-groups in your community, and participate in one of their programs.

Looking for an informative introduction to action projects? The Region of Peel’s Environmental Action Guide explores the concept and provides a wealth of advice and insight on creating successful action projects with your students.
